Who Uses These Tools

JapanWRDS Backups and the related photo archive connection are personal rclone connections that I use with my own Google account. They do not offer accounts or access to anyone else.

Google Drive Access and Use

The backup connection requests the “drive.file” permission, which lets it create and manage the files it places in Drive. The photo archive connection uses the broader “drive” permission so that it can work with files already in my Drive. I use these permissions to list, read, upload and manage my backup and photo archive files. The broader permission could also change or delete Drive files; how it is used stays under my control.

Storage and Sharing

rclone runs on my computer and connects directly to Google Drive. Its OAuth credentials are stored locally in my rclone configuration. This website never receives those credentials or any Google Drive file contents. The tools do not sell Google data or use it for advertising.

Backup and archive files stay in my Google Drive until I manage or remove them, and I manage local copies separately. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google Account's third-party connections settings.
